Ministry Update: 2018 Annual Summary

The battle for souls is unremitting and not for the faint of heart. Yet, we know that the work is not ours; the Lord of the harvest has commissioned us to testify to the Messiah who brings gospel light and eternal life, who has risen with healing in his wings. It is the Messiah’s work, and in him we trust to do all according to his sovereign will.

Please give praise to God for the great deeds he has done for GCA in 2018:

  • GCA regained its 501c3 status and is in good standing with the IRS.

  • GCA gained a new treasurer, Nate Carson, whose energy/support benefits the GCA board.

  • Nunn family moved to a new ministry/location in Alaska and still plans to volunteer for camp and flying needs.

  • GCA acquired two new full-time missionary families—the Vrenna family and the Tjerlund family.

  • King’s Lodge/GCA has built a working relationship with the Alaska’s Department of Corrections, GCA is establishing a discipleship-training center for Alaska Natives who have become believers in prison.

  • The Lord has recruited some godly men with experience in prison ministry to serve on our newly formed advisory council for King's Lodge.

  • GCA hired a new bookkeeper, Jessica Lindquist, who has been a great help.

The GCA board and staff are grateful for your faithful partnership and prayerful support. Thank you for standing with us in the gospel as we follow Christ’s call to proclaim the good news of his kingdom and to make disciples among the peoples of Bush Alaska. Please join us in prayer and partnership again in 2019,
as we seek to bring biblical training to Bush Alaska.

For the Honor of Christ,

E.D. Burns, PhD

Great Commission Alaska, President

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
